AKC’s Detection Dog Task Force Webinar Series: January 2021 “Getting Puppies Started Right for Detection”

The AKC Detection Dog Task Force (DDTF), invites you to join us along with participants in the AKC Patriotic Puppy Program for our January 2021 webinar on Getting Puppies Started Right for Detection: Experts Compare and Contrast Successful Approaches.

The AKC DDTF works to address the shortage of domestically bred, -raised and -trained explosives detection dogs in the United States.

The online event will take place Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 7:30pm ET.

 Please join us to learn from the following industry experts:

  • Bart Rogers - Chief Canine Instructor of Auburn University’s Canine Performance Sciences breeding program. Bart oversees the development and training of candidate detection dogs from birth to 12 months including young puppy socialization and development, initial odor imprinting and discrimination work, and advanced detection training.
  • Tim Baird - Director of Operations MK9 Solutions Alabama. Tim has 28 years’ experience in working dogs, 36 years of raising and training dogs. He is also a patent holder on Vapor Wake K9’s and trained the first IDD Detections Dogs for USMC, and has supplied canines to federal agencies and law enforcement around the world.
  • Stacey West - Program Manager, AKC’s Patriotic Puppy Program. Stacey also is founder and president of Anchored Canine, Inc., where he is responsible for all aspects of the development and operation of canine breeding and training programs to produce detection and sporting dogs.
